Nelson Jazz Club & Founders Heritage Park present Jazz on The Village Green.

Our largest band to perform at Jazz on The Village Green is the Nelson Jazz Club Big Band, consisting of around 19 players.

The Big Band is styled after the great bands of the Forties and Fifties, playing syncopated written arrangements with improvised interludes.

Most people will be familiar with Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Duke Ellington, but Big Bands have been popular since the dawn of jazz and show no sign of losing their appeal, with new arrangements of contemporary music appearing all the time.

Pack your picnic baskets with your most scrumptious snacks, grab your trusty checkered blanket and comfy chairs, and don't forget the sunscreen and your snazzy hat!
